Tunic pattern giveaway

As I posted yesterday, another two of my patterns are ready to go and today I'm starting a giveaway for my tunic pattern.

The tunic has a generous a-line cut and a longer length ensuring many seasons of wear. It has a double elastic band at the neckline so it's easy to get on and off (even in full chase mode, as I often do). You can have a lot of fun with this pattern, it can be made long or short sleeved and you can mix your fabrics between sleeves, bodices and neckband.

I'm not feeling very inspired today, so just a comment telling me to cheer up is fine :) I'll use Randomizer to pick a winner on Thursday. Remember to get your comments on yesterday's post for a chance for the matinee jacket pattern too!

  1. I was hoping that this giveaway was going to be the boys jacket pattern, but this top is adorable (my niece would love it).
Cheer up - only 35 days 'til proper sleep! :)

  4. A comment to cheer you up? That's a lot of pressure :)

How about a story? My dad goes to a place where he once had an injury rehab. He walks in the pool a few days a week. He's a big guy, and doesn't have swimtrunks. So he wears a pair of underwear and shorts. After his last visit, he had changed and decided to use the restroom before leaving. He left his bag unattended on a bench and someone stole it. Picture if you will: some loser sitting in his car or shabby apartment preparing to peruse his ill-gotten gains... When said loser opens this bag he finds: a little pocket comb, a roll-on deodorant, and soaking wet underwear and shorts (size 5x!). No doubt by the weight of the bag this loser thought he had snagged something big... I'm sure this wasn't what he had in mind.

  5. ok, a comment to cheer you up...you are really talented..great designs, beautiful fabrics and fabric combinations...and have an amazing amount of drive to persist and succeed in your business while caring for 2 little kids...I know of what I speak...I too had a sewing business..making handbags...when my 2 oldest were in the 8-12 year range...and, believe me (and take heart in the fact that) children are easier as they get older....now that I have a new baby (well,a one year old) I am incapacitated, can barely find the time to sew a thing...so, give yourself a pat on the back, and know that what you are doing and succeeding at is REALLY difficult ...bravo!

  6. Something to cheer you up?
    How about:

I think you are very talented and love your designs.

It's becoming spring/summer ish somewhat better weather.

You can officially eat as much chocolate as you like next weekend.

This Friday and next Monday are bank holidays and therefore you ought to have some assistance on those days... does that help?

  7. Please cheer up..isn't Summer just around the corner ;)? If that doesn't help, there's always wine.

  8. I read a lot of craft blogs (thanks to my friend Vonnie) but beyond baking I'm never really been inspired to try anything else. I love the look of so many of your clothes and this tunic in particular is lovely. You may be lacking in inspiration at the moment, but you have inspired me to turn my hand to something new and have a wee go at making some simple clothes for my kids.

  9. Hey, cheer up, you make fab clothes! I have had a sewing machine for a while now, mainly it has been a dust gathering device, but since I started reading your blog I have actually pulled my finger out and made some stuff, well, a couple of drawstring bags for wet nappies and a tote bag, cut from an old t-shirt, nothing too adventurous. I am working up to ordering your asymmetrical jacket pattern, but am going to start on a more simple pinafore dress.

Oh, and this always make my smile, I hope it makes you smile too:

"Doctor, doctor, sometimes I feel like a wigwam and sometimes I feel like a teepee."

"Ah, relax, you're just too tense!"

  10. This tunic is so lovely and versatile and I love your fabrics. Here's a quote from my 8 year old last year to cheer you up. I'd asked him to find something but as a male he's typically bad at looking for things:
“It’s unfindable Mum, but I bet with your glasses you could sniff it out, just like a Golden Receiver.”

  11. Cheer up. You told us to tell you.
You have two fantastic children, you are really talented both in sewing and writing and your blog is the first thing I look at when I turn the computer on.

  13. Fabulous pattern, as always you have an amazing eye for fabric!

Here's the cheeriest thing I can think of in the midst of a Monday work day! My newly-turned-five daughter believes herself to be a wicked hand at telling a joke. Unfortunately she only knows one joke. :)

    Knock Knock!
    Who's there?
    Banana!
    Banana Who?
    Knock knock!
    Who's there?
    Banana!
    Banana who?
    Knock knock!
    Who's there?
    Orange!
    Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

    Hmmmmmmm......

  18. Oh, very cute. I would say that I'd linked to your site from my blog - http://emilyflippinmaruna.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/must-make-monday/.
But you already know that. :) Hmm....how about, a joke.

A very modest lady applied for a job...

A very modest lady applied for a job at the factory where they made "Tickle me Elmo dolls". It was Friday and almost quitting time and hurriedly the boss told her to report for work on Monday. He quickly explained to her that she would be stationed on the assembly line just before the dolls were packed into boxes. On Monday they started up the line and within twenty minutes had to shut it down because one worker couldn't keep up. The boss went down the line to find the problem. The new employee was very busy trying to do her part but she had a bunch of dolls waiting for her. Closer examination showed that she was sewing little cloth bags containing two walnuts in the appropriate place on the dolls. The boss could not control his laughter and said, "Lady, I said to give each doll Two----Test----Tickles."

    ta dah! hope that helps!

  23. Maybe you will be karmically cheered up thanks to all these fabby giveaways you're running? Or you could always make cakes again. Maybe even just the icing?

Plus, as others have said, you're fabulously talented, write beautifully and have great hair.
