Free giveaway of my asymetrical jacket pattern

I'm so excited that it's back from testing and good to go! If you follow my blog, you'll know that each time I release a pattern I have a free giveaway competition, so here we go...

The jacket is reversible (what else would you expect from me?!), with wide sleeves and a more cropped fit than my double breasted coat. It fastens to one side of the chest with two buttons and has a asymetrical collar. The pattern includes sizes 18m / 2T and 3T/4T and the generous cut and rolled up contrast sleeves mean the jacket will get plenty of wear. In fact, I tried it on my childminder's daughter (who is thin and wears a 7/8 yr) and it fit like a super cute swing coat with cropped sleeves and hitting at the waist.

The tutorial is eight full-colour pages, with very detailed step-by-step instructions and sewing tips. I would rate it advanced beginner / intermediate, although the cutting layout is a bit tricky because of it being asymetrical and reversible.

If you want a chance to win this pattern, just leave a comment on this post (make sure to include your email address if I can't contact you through Blogger). As I'm hoping Steven will take me away for my 30th birthday this summer (hint, hint), suggestions for a weekend break from the UK would be greatly appreciated...

I'll use Randomizer to chose a winner on Friday!

  2. My favourite place for a weekend break would be the Yorkshire coast - you could go to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, and then stop in York for tea and scones at Betty's Tea Rooms.

  3. Hello, would love to receive your pattern as I know my little girl would look gorgeous in that coat. If you want to get away from the UK, then how about a weekend in Bruges? Easy to get to by train from Brussels, great beer, small enough to explore and get to know over a weekend, charming and plenty of chocolate!

  4. Hmmm... I'm in the Midwestern US, so this is probably far away for a weekend trip. But I would suggest Salzburg in Austria. Sure, they have all that Sound of Music stuff, but it is just such a lovely place on it's own. I think I left my heart there.

I have no real concept of travel time for Europe, so this may be too far also. But you should go if you get the chance.

P.S. Do you still need 5T/6 testers for your other coat pattern? I missed that post originally.

Please put my name in the 'hat' for a chance to win.
Bideford in Devon is very nice, the children and I had a fabulous time at the sheep farm there (or were you thinking more romantic), York is pretty at this time of year (lots of daffies), personally anywhere with seasdie is good too? Rambling now, sorry!

  6. Lovely giveaway! I'm always on the look out for things to make for my little niece. As for ideas for weekends away, my faves would be Holkam estate on beautiful Norfolk coast but some lovely craft shops too as you will also need some presents! Grey Cottage in Lee bay (http://www.leebay.co.uk/grey_cottage.htm). Its really beautiful and Julia is a great cook. Or Portmerion Hotel for a fancy and eccentric treat (where the Prisoner was filmed but also home to the china). Ghent is lovely too, a smaller version of Bruges, with some fad design and folklore museums. I think I need a weekend away too!

A weekend getaway for your 30th sounds divine! As an Austin, Texas resident I really have no great suggestions for you other than make sure it involves lots of great food and alcohol. Oh, pampering would be lovely, too. Have fun!

  12. I have no vacation tips as I am in the US and have never been to the UK. But I do hope that your dh takes you somewhere fun for your 30th. For my 30th last year we didn't get to do anything spectacular because I had just given birth to my son the week before. Way too tired to do anything at that point! But ! got the best gift ever! :)
Thanks for giving away the pattern. I love your coats!

  23. Ola, ok, fingers crossed! Somewhere in the UK, hmm, I've got very fond memories of the lake district - poetic, rambly and beautiful. North Wales too is quite stunning. Depends what you like. For a fun city break, I'd second Brighton - so fun and funky. Outside of the British Isles? What's your nearest airport? Do ryan air fly from there? They are having a £10 sale and they go to Croatia, Poland and other interesting places. Most fave place in the UK - gotta be Cornwall - a different world.
